The new season on Sky Sports – all you need to know

Former England international Alex Scott is to host Goals on Sunday alongside Chris Kamara as Sky Sports unveils it biggest-ever season of live Premier League football.

Scott, who was part of Sky’s team last season and the BBC’s summer World Cup coverage, takes over from Ben Shephard who’s decided to step down from the role to spend more time with his family. The show will air in a new regular 11.30am slot.

Sky Sports will screen more live Premier League matches than ever before (128 games a season) taking on the Saturday tea-time slot and also some 7.45pm Saturday matches. Crucially Sky have every weekend first pick from the league.

WHO’S SHOWING WHAT FROM THE PREMIER LEAGUE 2019-20 SEASON HERE

Friday Night Football, Super Sunday (new kick-off times of 2pm and 4.30pm) and Monday Night Football continue as usual. David Jones is back to host the Sunday and Monday matches with Kelly Cates on duty for the Friday and Saturday offerings.

Saturday mornings have been tweaked with preview show Saturday Social airing at 9.30am with Adam Smith and Joe Thomlinson and a new time for Fenners and the gang and Soccer AM from 10.30am.

EFL games will now air on Saturday lunchtimes (as well as regular Friday slots and some Sunday and Monday kicks-offs). Sky will screen more live EFL matches than ever before with entire midweek rounds being available on the red button and app like last season.

Scott Minto and David Prutton will again host the action for the Championship and Leagues One and Two while Caroline Barker is a new addition to the EFL coverage as pitch-side reporter.

Laura Woods is to take over as the host of Sky’s Carabao Cup coverage with live games from the first round to the final.

Sky’s Scottish coverage gets a revamp with longer build-ups to games and new signing Eilidh Barbour anchoring coverage. Sky will again share coverage of the SPFL with BT Sport, but crucially has exclusive rights to the Old Firm games. Sky takes over as the exclusive home of live SPFL games from the 2020-21 season.
