GARY LINEKER LEAVES BT SPORT

Gary Lineker has revealed he’s leaving BT Sport – despite a “generous offer” to stay on.

Lineker announced on his Twitter account that he’s decided to step down from his job as the main anchor for the station’s Champions League coverage. The Chelsea-Man City Porto final will be his last game with the station.

He said he was “genuinely proud of being part of their truly ground-breaking coverage” which he has hosted for the last six years.

Lineker says he’s decided to “do things that I’ve promised myself I’d do” like follow Leicester across Europe with his sons.

He will continue to host Match of the Day and Euro 2020 after agreeing a new five-year deal with BBC Sport last year HERE
