CHAMPIONSHIP OPENING WEEKEND LIVE ON SKY SPORTS

EVERY Championship game from the opening weekend of the competition will again be available live on Sky Sports as the new season gets underway.

This season the EFL has split the start of the campaigns with League One and League Two kicking off on the opening weekend of August and the Championship following the next weekend. Last weekend all EFL TV games were available.

Sky has selected four main feature Championship matches for the full production coverage for its main channels from , but every other game will also be available on its Sky Sports+ service.

The games on Sky Sports+ don’t offer as many camera angles as the fully-blown main Sky channel matches, but fans said the coverage last season was a considerable improvement on the previous Championship midweek red button service Sky used to provide which was limited to one camera angle and no replays.

Sky Sports are entering the second season of a five-year deal with the EFL which will again see it broadcast more than 1,000 live matches from the EFL’s competitions. Every single Carabao Cup game will again be available live.

ITV will also screen ten of Sky’s EFL matches free-to-air and will also offer ten Carabao Cup games free-to-air this season as part of an agreement reached with Sky last season.
