NO SKY RED BUTTON FOR THIS WEEK’S MIDWEEK CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES

Sky Sports is not providing the red button service to screen all Championship games for the first midweek set of fixtures from the competition this week.

Despite the EFL website stating Sky has the option to screen all the full regular midweek Championship fixtures via its red button and digital services, Sky is not listing any red button games until the second round of midweek games in mid-September.

Sky is showing full coverage of Millwall v Fulham (7.45pm, Tuesday) and West Brom v Sheffield United (8pm, Wednesday) on its Sky Sports Football channel. More limited coverage of Huddersfield v Preston (Tuesday, 7.45pm) will be shown on Sky Sports Arena. The Huddersfield game is from limited camera coverage and won’t have a full build-up and after-match show.

It’s not clear why Sky is not screening the games via the red button until the next round with reports suggesting the broadcaster initially listed them before pulling them from the schedule.

The games not on the main Sky Sports Football channel will be available on iFollow and goals are expected to be shown as they go in on Sky Sports News. Quest will also have midweek highlights from all three EFL divisions on Wednesday night.
