>What games have Amazon Prime Video got?
Amazon have the rights to 20 Premier League matches – that’s every game from this midweek round and every match from the Boxing Day round. It’s the first time the Premier League has made an entire match round available to show live on TV.
Amazon’s deal to show the games runs for the next three seasons.
>Why are none of the games available on Sky and BT?
The two sets of matches were in one package put out by the Premier League for broadcasters to bid for. Initially, the package didn’t sell and had to put up for auction again which was when Amazon won the rights. It’s not clear whether Sky or BT were outbid or whether they didn’t value the rights having already scooped up the key packages they wanted of games.
BT has the rights to show all New Year’s Day games in the Premier League while every game from the entire winter break ‘split weekend’ will be shown across Sky and BT over two weekends.
> Who’s presenting Amazon’s coverage and who are their pundits?
In a huge operation, Amazon are promising to have a pitch-side presentation team at all 20 of their games with coverage starting from 6.30pm for the midweek matches.
On the midweek Wednesday and Boxing Day will have a studio-based goals show showing all the action as it happens.
