FA Cup third round weekend on TV

BT Sport and BBC Sport have confirmed six live games to be televised from the third round of the FA Cup.

Two games will be screened on BBC One with a further four on BT Sport 1. Each game will kick-off one minute later than usual in support of the Heads Up campaign.

Each club involved in TV ties will receive a £150,000 TV fee.

FA CUP FIRST ROUND REPLAYS LIVE ON TV HERE

The FA Cup second round TV ties for BBC Sport and BT Sport have been confirmed.

Three games are being screened on BT with the other on BBC Two. Each club will receive an FA £75,000 TV fee.

Eight further games have been moved to Sunday for the BBC’s Final Score live goals show.

Four games will be screened from the second round – three on BT Sport, one on BBC Two.

 

Q: What days and kick-off times will the TV games be played?

The BBC’s game is usually on a Friday night with a 7.55pm kick-off. BT Sport usually have one Monday night match with their other two games likely to be on Saturday tea-time/Sunday afternoon. The games will be played over the weekend of Friday November 29 to Monday December 2.

Q: Will any other games be moved for TV purposes?

Yes, eight matches are likely to move over to Sunday December 1 to accommodate the BBC Final Score live goals show. They will all kick-off at the same time.

Q: When will the TV games be confirmed?

Based on previous rounds it’s likely the TV games will be confirmed by Thursday or Friday of this week.

Q: How much does each club get for a live TV game and what’s the prize money for getting through to round three?

Each club in one of the four live TV games will receive an FA TV fee of £75,000.

Each club moved to Sunday for the BBC Final Score show will receive a £12,500 fee.

Furthermore clubs selected for a main Saturday highlights game will receive £6,750 fee.

Every club which makes it to round three will receive £54,000 in prize money.

At this stage of the competition, broadcasters want shocks and big stories so they tend to pick non-league teams at home to league teams as their preferred formula.

The BBC and BT have confirmed the four live FA Cup ties to be broadcast from the first round proper of the competition.

The broadcasters will continue to share coverage of the tournament this season and next before ITV takes over from BT to join the BBC in showing games from the competition from the 2021-22 season.

Each club involved in the four first round TV ties (three on BT Sport, one on the BBC) will receive a £75,000 TV fee.

Several other games are expected to move to Sunday to accommodate the BBC Final Score live goals show.

FA CUP ON TV 2019-20 SEASON

BBC – 16 LIVE TV games including one semi-final and the final + preliminary rounds on red button/online.

BT SPORT – up to 24 LIVE games including one semi-final and the final.

From the 2021-22 season BBC and ITV will share live coverage.

BT Sport unveil new signings and shows

BT Sport has unveiled a raft of new signings, a new show and new channel ahead of the start of the Premier League season.

Former England internationals Peter Crouch, Joe Cole and Karen Carney have been confirmed as part of BT’s football team for the new season. They join the previously announced Robin van Persie HERE

BT’s Saturday line-up will have a new-look with the broadcaster now showing Saturday lunchtime Premier League kick-offs. BT have secured 52 live games for the new season, more than they’ve ever previously aired.

PREMIER LEAGUE 2019-20 – Sky, BT, Amazon, who’s showing what games in which time slots HERE

Non-league games will usually be broadcast in the Saturday tea-time slot (5.15pm) which will be followed by a new live National League highlights show (7.30pm).

Ahead of the lunchtime Premier League game, BT is launching a new live Saturday preview show. Early Kick-Off will air between 10am and 12noon with Robbie Savage and Jules Breach in the studio and contributions from Jake Humphrey and the BT Sport team on location at the live lunch-time game.

Jake then hosts live coverage of the game from 12noon (kick-off 12.30pm) with live scores service BT Sport Score returning from 2.45pm.

PREMIER LEAGUE LIVE – all confirmed TV games so far HERE

BT Sport’s ultra high definition offering is also being rebranded. BT Sport 4K UHD will be renamed BT Sport Ultimate. It is available now to BT TV customers and EE 5G pay monthly customers.

BT Sport Ultimate will also soon be extended to BT Sport customers on EE 4G pay monthly, the BT Sport app and those watching on the Sky platform.
