Sky Sports is to make the Liverpool v Chelsea game and the presentation of the Premier League trophy FREE-TO-AIR on Wednesday July 22.

The game will be shown on Freeview channel Pick while also being broadcast on Sky Sports Premier League, Sky Sports Main Event and Sky One (which is available to Sky subscribers who don’t take the sports channels).

The move comes after discussions with the Premier League and amid fears Liverpool fans will gather outside Anfield as the trophy is presented.

A special podium will be erected on the Kop where Liverpool’s players and staff will be presented with their medals and the Premier League trophy. Sir Kenny Dalglish, who was manager when Liverpool last won the top-flight title in 1990, will be part of the presentation party.

It’s one of 25 games from Sky’s 64 since the re-start that the broadcaster decided to simulcast free-to-air on Pick. Eight others have been shown free-to-air on the BBC and Amazon. BT decided against making any of its 20 matches free.
