SAM MATTERFACE NAMED AS ITV’S NEW MAIN FOOTBALL COMMENTATOR AS CLIVE TYLDESLEY DEMOTED

ITV are to drop long-serving Clive Tyldesley as their main football commentator from next season.
Tyldesley, who has called the top games for the network for 22 years, is to be replaced by Sam Matterface.
In a statement, ITV Sport boss Niall Sloane praised Tyldesley for his “superb work” and “outstanding career”, but offered no explanation as to why the switch was being made.
ITV hold the rights to European and World Cup qualifiers for England as well as the sharing the tournaments with the BBC. And from next season they’ll take on the live rights to the FA Cup from BT Sport as the competition becomes entirely free-to-air across the BBC and ITV.
Do you agree with ITV’s decision to replace Clive Tyldesley with Sam Matterface as their main football commentator?

Tyldseley confirmed he will continue to work on ITV’s football coverage, but his demotion could pave the way for a swoop from Sky Sports or BT Sport.
