Match of the Day is back!
Match of the Day returns on Saturday for the start of the new Premier League season – complete with a new set.
Now in its 55th year, the show is back with a new 360-degree virtual reality studio. The BBC says it will use the latest in real-time computer game rendering technology.
MOTD and other football shows like Football Focus and Final Score will come from the special ‘BBC Sport football stadium’ as it’s being called. It will be used to create fly-through augmented reality graphics such as team formations and analysis.
The first show on Saturday August 10 (10.30pm BBC One/BBC iPlayer) will see Gary Lineker begin his 20th season hosting MOTD. He’ll be joined by Alan Shearer and Ian Wright.

Other pundits returning across the BBC footie shows include Phil Neville, Alex Scott, Martin Keown, Mark Lawrenson, Danny Murphy, Dion Dublin, Garth Crooks, Kevin Kilbane, Leon Osman and Jon Walters.
Joining Lineker on presenting duties again will be Dan Walker, Mark Chapman, Jason Mohammad and Gabby Logan.
As well as Match of the Day and Match of the Day 2, from September a new magazine show, MOTDx, will begin hosted by Jermaine Jenas. It will explore the music, fashion and culture of football events.
The BBC again has live FA Cup football in the new season while there will also be coverage of the Women’s Super League including the Women’s Football Show returning in September.
