Match of the Day is back!
Match of the Day returns on Saturday for the start of the new Premier League season – complete with a new set.
Now in its 55th year, the show is back with a new 360-degree virtual reality studio. The BBC says it will use the latest in real-time computer game rendering technology.
MOTD and other football shows like Football Focus and Final Score will come from the special ‘BBC Sport football stadium’ as it’s being called. It will be used to create fly-through augmented reality graphics such as team formations and analysis.
The first show on Saturday August 10 (10.30pm BBC One/BBC iPlayer) will see Gary Lineker begin his 20th season hosting MOTD. He’ll be joined by Alan Shearer and Ian Wright.
